Where To Start in Defining Your Dream Home

1. Define Your Style: Seek out the do’s-and-don’ts of what you are looking for. Are you dreaming of an open concept? Is character important to you or are you looking for something more modern? Are you wanting lots of space, like an acreage? A yard? Porch? Spend time researching and nailing down that style!

2. Future Thinking: Will your family be growing? Do you plan on hosting dinner parties? Will friends and/or family be coming to visit? These are all questions that will help in firming up the size and location of your future home.

3. Explore The Neighbourhood: Don’t underestimate this one. It’s important to spend some time researching exactly what you need in a neighborhood: schools, parks, grocery stores, walking trails, etc.

4. Deal Breakers: If you aren’t building your home, it’s important to know what are deal-breakers in finding your perfect home. At the same time, be realistic about what you want and what’s within your budget. It’s important to distinguish between your wants and needs.
